Communion Statement
We believe that in Holy Communion, God gives us His very body and blood to forgive our sins and strengthen our faith in Him. Before communing here at Trinity, we ask you to reflect on these questions:
Do you believe that Jesus Christ is God and that He died and rose again for the forgiveness of your sins?
Do you believe that you are a sinner in need of God’s grace and mercy?
Do you believe that Jesus’s body and blood are truly physically present in the bread and the wine?
If the answer to these questions is yes, then you are welcome to communion. If the answer to any is no, then we ask you to refrain from communing with us. If you have any questions or are confused about what we believe, please speak to our pastor.
For further reflection before receiving Holy Communion, see here.
To see what scripture says about Holy Communion, see 1 Corinthians 10-11, John 6, Matthew 26, Mark 14, and Luke 22.
For a more detailed statement on our understanding of Holy Communion, see what the LCMS believes here.
